It’s Clarkson on TV

ITV has commissioned Expectation to produce a Christmas TV review of the year show – It’s Clarkson on TV – hosted by Jeremy Clarkson, it announced today.

The Who Wants to Be A Millionaire and The Grand Tour presenter and broadcaster will be reviewing the best, worst and most bizarre TV offerings from 2020, from the comfort of a TV studio. With his signature and celebrated caustic delivery, he will pass judgement on what the great British public watched…and didn’t, and what fascinating foreign TV shows managed to make it to air.

In an honest, no-holds barred review of 2020 TV, It’s Clarkson on TV will bring us a razor sharp look at the year’s TV – including what Jeremy’s loved and loathed.

He will be celebrating some of the best of British TV including gripping dramas, White House Farm, Quiz and Des as well as feature the latest offerings from the streaming services including dating shows like Love is Blind and property shows like Selling Sunset.

Jeremy will also take a trip around the world to show how our international neighbours have been televising everything from wacky game shows to some weird and wonderful daytime television offerings, giving us a peak behind the international television curtain.

True to form and with his classic Clarkson wit, Jeremy will dissect elements of these shows that might have passed us by or elaborate on the things that viewers picked up on.

Jeremy Clarkson said: “I’ve finally got a Christmas Day special the year Christmas is cancelled! This is the show that looks at television in a year when TV has never been more important. It’s been there to amuse, inform and entertain – we’ve had unfathomably brilliant shows and we’ve had some gloriously, mind-blowingly, awful ones. I’ll take you through the lot of them, wearing nothing remotely Christmassy. Just in case it gets postponed and put out at Easter.”

Ben Wicks, Creative Director, Comedy Entertainment at Expectation, added:

“We are very grateful to ITV, particularly Joe Mace for championing this show. Jeremy is the funniest person there is to sit and watch TV with – and now ITV viewers get to do just that.”

It’s Clarkson on TV was commissioned by ITV’s Head of Entertainment Katie Rawcliffe, and Commissioning Editor Joe Mace.
